Katee Sackhoff To Star In & Create Futuristic TV Series For Reunion Pictures

katie sakhoff

Battlestar Galactica alumna Katee Sackhoff is set to topline another drama set in the future, this one her own creation. Sackhoff has teamed with Continuum producer Reunion Pictures for the project, Rain, which she wrote and is executive producing though her Fly Free Productions. Rain is described as an evolutionary parable that gives us a look into our possible future as a species viewed through the eyes of a soldier named Rain (Sackhoff). It explores how the longterm effects of global warming, the burning of fossil fuels and the scientific manipulation of nature’s balance rot the world and contribute to its decline. “With Rain, Katee has created a future world and a story that are compelling as both a sweeping vision and a very personal exploration of a civilization in harrowing decline by its own hand,” said Reunion Pictures’ Tom Rowe. “She has written a great story and we are excited to be working with her.” Rowe executive produces alongside Sackhoff, with Leland LaBarre serving as producer.

Sackhoff costars in the drama Longmire, which is moving to Netflix. She is coming off viral onlinevideo hit Power/Rangers, which amassed more than 14 million views on YouTube within days before being yanked over copyright issues. “It’s great to be in business with Reunion and Thunderbird,” Sackhoff said.” Their credentials in the genre are outstanding and they share my vision in telling a story that means a lot to me.” In addition to Continuum, Reunion Pictures, owned by Vancouver based Thunderbird Films, also produces drama Olympus for Syfy.

Super Channel announces Canadian broadcast premiere of mythological drama series, Olympus

Thursday, April 2 at 9 pm ET

EDMONTON (March 9, 2015) Olympus, an epic 13-part mythological drama series, makes its Canadian broadcast premiere on Super Channel, Canada’s only national English pay television network, on Thursday, April 2 at 9:00 p.m. ET (SC2).

The Super Channel original series, shot in Vancouver, takes viewers into the action-packed ancient world of humans, Gods and monsters, featuring characters from mythology in a way never before imagined.

Olympus tells the story of Hero (Tom York, Tyrant), a young man, on a mythical quest to solve the riddle of the Gods, unlock the doors to Olympus and become an immortal.
